| In the fall of 2006, Brisk won the contract to reseal and coat the exterior of the two high rise buildings making up the 55 Water Street Office Complex. The buildings combine to total over three million leasable square feet, making it the largest privately held office property in New York City and second in the nation, only to the Sears Tower in Chicago.
Approximately 37,000 lineal feet of Dow Corning's 123 performed silicone tape was installed at the window perimeters. More than 1,500 custom Dow Corning Silicone boots were installed at the window washing right track, and stack joints. Lastly, 75,000 lineal feet of precast concrete sealant was removed and replaced.
To protect the precast concrete, the building owner and the engineer also selected Dow Corning's All-Guard Elastomeric Silicone coating to adorn the outside. Approximately 500,000 square feet of the All-Guard product was applied.
An extensive testing program was established by IBA, Dow, and Brisk to ensure that all of the products were installed according to published installation procedures. |
