| The Fifth Church of Christ Scientist in Indianapolis was completed in 1935. After years of exposure to the elements and pollution, the limestone exterior had become very dirty and the mortar joints were deteriorating.
The church's Building Commission contacted consultant, John Lamson to develop a repair specification. Western Waterproofing was selected as the restoration contractor.
The deteriorated mortar was removed using grinders. The joints were repointed with new mortar matched closely in color and consistency with the original material.
The building was cleaned using water. A clear water repellant was applied to the masonry surfaces to help protect against future moisture problems.
